Southern Derbyshire LIFTCo which is currently investing more than £60 million in state-of-the-art health and local authority facilities across Southern Derbyshire, is celebrating after winning a major national award.
More than 600 guests from across public and private sectors attended a glittering award ceremony, which took place at the Hilton Hotel on Park Lane in London. 71 organisations entered the 11 categories and 32 organisations made the final shortlist. The judges came from a range of public and private sector organisations, with a broad spectrum of knowledge and experience.
The award for Enhanced Patient Experience was awarded to the organisation that could demonstrate the clearest improvement to the patient experience along the whole patient pathway, with regard to choice, access, service delivery and service improvement for users. Southern Derbyshire LIFT Co beat off the challenge from Barking and Havering LIFTCo and Manchester, Salford and Trafford LIFTCo for its innovative Light House scheme, a £2.5m respite care facility for disabled children on St Mark’s Road in Derby. The innovative facility is a collaboration between Derby City Council, Derby City Primary Care Trust (PCT) and the LIFT Company.
Commenting on the award, Steve Maleham, General Manager of Southern Derbyshire LIFTCo said: “it is a fantastic achievement for Southern Derbyshire LIFT Company to be recognised nationally for our Light House facility. The award is testament to the hard work and dedication of both the public and private sector teams to improve patient choice, access and service delivery from our range of facilities across the country.”
