Over the past year, the LIFT project team has worked closely with ExcellCare, the private sector partner, to finalise the designs of three schemes, including Eden Surgery Redevelopment, Long Eaton Health Centre and Integrated Disabled Childrens Service.

Financial Close for these schemes was achieved on 3rd December 2004 and construction work has already begun on these schemes.

More details can be found under the 'Projects in Construction' page on this website.
Design work has already begun on the proposals for the next schemes that make up the first group of projects in this development.

These include:

  • AB Resource Centre(Coleman Street)
  • Austin Estate Primary Care Centre
  • Swadlincote Clinic redevelopment
  • Ashbourne Health Centre
  • Alfreton Primary Care Centre

These projects can be viewed in more detail under the 'Projects in Development' page of this website.

These developments will improve both primary care premises and access to primary and social care services across Southern Derbyshire.
In addition, the first set of schemes will also complement the new acute hospital at the Derby City General Hospital site and the redevelopment of the Derbyshire Royal Infirmary into a community hospital, ensuring that patients receive the highest level of health and social care facilities at whichever point they access the service.
