The official opening of the Light House, a Disabled Children's Service, was held on Sunday the 5th March.
The newly built Light House, a joint facility run by Derby City Council and Central Derby Primary Care Trust (PCT), opened it's doors in the ceremony on Sunday the 5th March, with Rammie to cut the ribbon and music provided by the Ivy House School Band.
The new facility offers services for children with disabilities and challenging learning behaviour, with purpose built accommodation including a 6 bed and a 4 bed wing, soft play areas and sensory rooms, an IT play area, a children's kitchen and activity area as well as outdoor play.
The new centre has been welcomed by parents whose children will be able to enjoy the facilities, which provide residential short breaks and day care services.
